An Open Source project which adds a 1.8 inch LCD Display to a Raspberry Pi which can be used for text output and status updates.

The Raspi-LCD display is a 1.8 inch LCD display that can be mounted on top of a Raspberry Pi allowing projects and applications to display information when a monitor or TV are not being used . If you are using a RPi as a web server you can display statistics, home control and security systems can display alerts or status updates. If you are using a main display then it can be used for additional information such as the current music or video track or CPU speed.

The Raspi-LCD uses a 128 x 64 pixel display and includes 5 control buttons on board which can be used to control menu's making this a good option as a display in a whole range of electronics projects.

The project is Open Source so the designs and C source code are available for you to build your own but the easier option is to buy either the component kit from Emsystech and solder your own or buy the finished module.
